- Muffin-top occurs when someone wears tight low-rise jeans and a short shirt that causes extra flesh to spill out over the top of the jeans resembling the top of a muffin rising out over the wrapper.
- High waters referring to pants that are so short that they show the wearer’s ankles but aren’t short enough to be considered Capri pants.
- Whale tail is when the top of a thong is visible above the waistline.
- Cameltoe describes how a female’s crotch area looks when her pants are too tight.
- Tighty whiteys are men’s white cotton briefs thought to be old fashioned.
- Jersey fringe convertible is kind of a cross between a shawl that was all the rage a few years ago and the Snuggie that is all the rage this year. It’s made out of jersey fabric and has a fringe on the edge and can be used as a shawl or a throw.
- Trashion is slang for clothes that people make using recycled items that some would consider trash, such as skirts made out of magazine pages.
- Athleisure are clothes that people wear to the office and can go right to the gym without changing.
- Androg, short for androgynous and is used when describing fashions that could be worn by males or females.
- Shooties, this is the nickname for this year’s half shoe/half boot combo that is all the rage. Unfortunately, it only looks good on a select few.
